2016 Winners

For the past 22 years, the Florida Festivals & Events Association has celebrated our members' achievements in event marketing, programming, service and innovation through the Sunsational Awards.

The Sunsational Awards are judged in three different budget levels and 16 different categories. Members may submit one item per category per event for nomination.

We had almost 400 submissions for the Sunsational Awards and we are thrilled to honor over 40 organizations and individuals representing over 120 events.

Distinguished Awards

Winners of the Distinguished Awards are nominated by their peers for their innovation, dedication to the industry and demonstration of leadership.

Innovative Event or Project

Clay County Agricultural fair - "fIFI"

Rolling advertising that offers advertisement for the sponsor and the fair year round. Fifi definitely gets attention and is a fun way to get your attendees invovled. Fifi has her own instagram account and will be used for ticket drops at sponsor locations before the fair. Fifi will also be used in fun social media games, take a #cowfie and tag the Clay County Fair in it for your chance to win tickets to the fair!

Emerging Leader

Jarrod White

Jarrod White is the Special Events Manager at the Delray Beach Marketing Cooperative. He is responsible for the planning and production of some of Delray Beach's largest events such as the lighting of the Famous 100 Foot Christmas Tree, July 4th and First Night. These events attract up to 100,000 attendees. Jarrod continually reinvents these events with super creative ideas. He is always on trend and ahead of the pack in terms of arts and entertainment.

Jarrod has a passion for the arts and spends time at Art Basel getting great ideas, normally jumping in his car at midnight and heading down to Miami right after a marathon Tree Lighting event.

We all know event producers cope with all sorts of interesting situations. Jarrod has been known to chase down a stolen golf cart on foot, test drive the bucket on a fire engine and wrestle in a sumo suit. Sponsors, especially, love Jarrod as he finds intriguing ways for them to interact with the attendees. Jarrod has done an incredible job for the DBMC, all the while obtaining his Masters Degree at FAU.
