VCA Walk for the Animals for the Humane Society of Broward County

Date: Feb 01, 2025
Time: 7:30 AM - 11:00 AM
Get your paws ready! The VCA Walk for the Animals is happening on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the beautiful Las Olas Intracoastal Promenade Park. Now in its 35th year, this is the only South Florida dog walk where you can enjoy the beauty of the beach and ocean and walk for a great cause – the Humane Society of Broward County. The one-mile walk will have vendor booths, entertainment, prizes and more!
Participants who gather donations will receive gifts for different fund-raising levels reached starting at $150 - which will earn you the official Walk t-shirt. For those who raise $1,000 or more your dog will be entered in a contest for a chance to be the 2026 Walk Cover Dog. The 2025 Cover Dog is 11 ½ -year-old Camie, a Great Dane, who resides in Lake Worth with her human family, the Greenberg’s.

Carey Morgan of Fort Lauderdale and Michelle Watson of Cooper City are thrilled to be chairing the event again and welcome Local 10’s Animal Advocate Jacey Birch, along with Jade Alexander and Martica Lopez from Hits 97.3 and Bobby Mitchell, Mike Kruz and Nikki from Easy 93.1 who are emceeing.

Registration is open at Walk4theAnimals.com. You can choose to register either as an individual or have fun raising money as a team by
creating a Pack. Once registered, you can customize your own fundraising page and ask family, friends, and co-workers to join you or donate, and post on social media, all with the click of a button.

There is no registration fee, but the VCA Walk for the Animals is the Humane Society of Broward County’s largest fundraiser of the year with a goal of raising $518,000. Donations and sponsorships received allow the shelter to continue caring for the thousands of homeless animals that come to the facility yearly. In addition, the shelter offers many programs and services such as low-cost vaccinations,
educational programs, and surrender prevention – all funded in part by animal lovers who participate in the Walk.

For those who would like to help the animals but cannot make it on February 1, you can still fundraise and be a virtual walker by raising money. Be a part of this fabulously fun event and help the animals at the same time!
